About Eleanor Pearce
Eleanor Pearce is an artist, educator, curator and community arts practitioner living and working in Forest Gate.
Eleanor is currently lead artist for Up the Allotments! A project devised in partnership with Loop Labs and East Side Heritage, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Her other heritage projects include Learn Draw Grow, in partnership with Forest Gate Community Garden and the Friends of West Ham Park, and Drawing Woodgrange Road, Past and Present, which was part of Newham Heritage Month in 2021.
Eleanor’s community art projects include the Aspire Portrait Project, E7 Portrait Project, and Painting the Gate, funded by Foundation for Future London’s Creative Futures Fund. Eleanor has taught regular adult art classes at The Gate Library, and offers an online art programme. To date, Eleanor has organised six large scale exhibitions at The Gate Library to showcase her students’ work.
Eleanor’s most recent solo exhibition was held at the Stratford Unitarian Gallery in October 2023. She has exhibited her work at sites of historical interest including The Caledonian Park Clock Tower, The Crypt Gallery, St Pancras, and Perrot’s Folly, Birmingham as well as The Gate Library and The Forest Gate Community Garden.
Eleanor held the role of Director of art at Islington Arts factory, 2006 – 2020, where she led and delivered arts educational programmes for adults and children, and curated the annual exhibition programme across two gallery spaces.
