LINDA STRACHAN (BEM) – DOUBLE OLYMPIAN

Linda Strachan grew up in Newham, is a double Olympian in Fencing in Seoul and Barcelona, and is the co-founder of Newham Swords.

JUMBO BASI & MIK SINGH BASI (MBE)

Brothers Jumbo and Mik Basi have a lifetime’s involvement with Boxing which started during their childhood in Newham. Jumbo is now Head Coach at Fairbairn Boxing Club, Mik is Chairman of the club and a Boxing referee and is the first British person ever to have refereed an Olympic final.
