Brampton Skatepark, opened in August 2024, represents a significant development in the recreational landscape of East Ham. Located within a large, enclosed area adjacent to Brampton Primary School, the park occupies the site of the former nursery buildings, which had long remained unused. Through redevelopment led by community group Skate Newham, the space was transformed into one of the borough’s most vibrant community hubs.
The facility features a mini-ramp, a concrete slab incorporating a range of skateable elements, and a series of art murals created in collaboration with local artists. As of 2024, Brampton Skatepark was the only skatepark situated within a public park in the London Borough of Newham.
The accompanying photograph depicts the August 2025 Brampton Skate Jam, an event that included free skateboarding lessons, competitions for under-15 and over-15 participants, and prize giveaways. The event attracted participants and spectators from across the borough, celebrating creativity, inclusivity, and active engagement.
