Darning Newham Presents: Decorative Mending and Embroidery Workshop

Sunday 9 May 2-3.30pm
  • Free
  • Family

Join local textile artist, Katie May Anderson to learn about decorative mending and embroidery. In this workshop we will cover basic sewing skills that can be used to fix and embellish clothing. We will explore how we can tell stories through stitch and the emotional value of the textiles in our lives.

No previous sewing experience needed, both beginners and enthusiasts are welcome!  A free materials pack will be available for everyone that signs up.

The workshop is aimed at ages 12+ years, but children should be supervised by an adult when sewing. To receive the materials pack please sign up by 29 April.

This is part two of workshops by Darning Newham – check out our workshop on Saturday 8 May on Drawing Techniques.

Attending both workshops will help develop your textile sample but don’t worry if you can only attend one of them.
