Tate Time Capsule

The event comprises a series of imaginative workshops culminating in the creation of a new mural destined to adorn the windows of the Tate Institute. Throughout these workshops, participants not only immerse themselves creatively in various activities but also delve into the rich history of the Institute.

On June 9th, join us for “Tate Time Capsule: A Creative Workshop.” This two-part session begins with an engaging presentation delving into the history of the Institute, followed by an illustration workshop. The resulting artworks will come together to form a vibrant patchwork mural. This event is suitable for all ages and families are warmly welcomed.

The event marks the inaugural introduction of the REinsTate project, which has recently secured the tender for the Tate Institute. It serves as our debut in acquainting ourselves with the community and laying the groundwork for its reopening and reintegration, embraced warmly by the community.

Constructed in 1887, the locally listed building served as a community facility for sugar factory workers and their families. Its significance lies in being a recognisable community hub that has been cherished and enjoyed by locals throughout the years.

ReSpace envisions an exciting project that engages local communities at the grassroots level, aiming to serve as the initial stepping stone for young creators, budding entrepreneurs, or anyone seeking to pursue meaningful activities.
