Newham Archives collects, preserves, and makes accessible the history of Newham’s people, places, and things. It holds a range of information sources including local newspapers and publications, council records, school and hospital records, maps, trade directories, genealogy resources, and a large photographic collection. It also has a local studies library of books relating to the history of Newham, and a large museum collection of art, archaeology, and social history objects that are stored off-site.
The archive is based at Stratford Library and is currently open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.30am – 1pm and 2.30pm – 4pm.
