About Neandra Etienne

Neandra is a local Arts & Culture producer and journalist and who has written about Newham’s heritage and history for Newham Voices.

For Newham Heritage Month in 2021, she organised a plaque to commemorate Jimi Hendrix’s connection to Newham which you can read about here.

The event gained wide public acclaim and was featured in Time Out, Secret London, Readers Digest,  BBC Radio London, Newham Voices and the Newham Recorder.

Neandra also coordinated a Newham Heritage plaque for footballer Jack Leslie at his home address in Canning Town and has organised events in Newham for Windrush Day and Black History Month.

She is currently leading further projects for Jack Leslie as well as a mural for the renowned Upper Cut club in Forest Gate.
