Thursday 20 May 2021, 5-6pm

This workshop created for young participants aged 14+, will explore the history and heritage of the factories that once resided at Cody Dock.

Join Visual Artist Larissa De Filippo for a one-hour workshop using sound as a point of inspiration to explore the heritage and history of Cody Docks. This project celebrates women of the 19th Century who worked at the Gas Light and Coke Company in Bromley-by-Bow.

This workshop will investigate the factory workers’ stories and experiences through the sounds that surrounded their lives. You will let the sound transport you to a different time.

Through listening to sounds and using practical exercises, you will explore ways of creating short stories and recording them for a podcast. This practical workshop is inclusive and participatory, welcoming people with little or no experience in podcasts or creative writing.
