The Workers United – Ian Crosson as Fred Ling

Actor Ian Crosson portrays Fred Ling in an improvised performance outside Custom House library.

Fred was a prominent member of the strike in 1889 at Silver’s Gutta Percha and India Rubber Works and there is a road named after him situated in Canning Town.

Ian played the part of Fred in the original play The Workers United by Deborah Walliker and Greg Benson performed at The Cundy Community Centre, 20th September 2025.
