New Year’s Eve Parties in the Docks

About this record

Memories of parties and music during New Year’s Eve.

I can remember we had a party on probably New Year's Eve, and my cousin had just got Buddy Holly's record. That'll be the day, and someone bought a radiogram, and there was like a lodging house next door for seamen. And somebody straddled the wire through the window and they plugged it into the light so everyone would be enjoying Buddy Holly, and then he saw my spiritual life. The music went off. He had to bang on the wall so I can actually remember the Gaslight Ridge, spooky and flickery, and my poor Nan.
