The Royal Docks: A People and Past in Pictures

Wednesday 17 September - Sunday 5 October 2025
|

An installation charting the maritime history and the heritage of the Royal Docks.

In June 2024, Marieta Evans – television presenter, journalist and content creator with a specialism in history and heritage – worked with the history club members to produce a series of 10 information boards highlighting the area’s rich heritage.

Explore locations – Royal Victoria Dock, Royal Albert Dock, King George the V Dock, North Woolwich Station, Royal Victoria Gardens, the old site of Harland and Wolff (now Galleons Point residential), Woolwich Ferry, Brunner Mond Factory (the site of the Silvertown explosion), Tate Institute and St Mark’s Church (now Brick Lane Music Hall).

Come down, have a look and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Royal Docks!

Commissioned by the Royal Docks Team and developed by the Royal Docks History Club, will be on display at the Festival Hub at the Pump House.
