About Royal Docks History Club

The history club was formed in 2016, from a shared love of discussing history. Three founder members were having tea, and they started talking about history books, and Antonia Fraser. They just could not stop talking history for hours, wanting to know more about each other’s family heritage.

They wondered what would happen if instead of meeting in a living room in Silvertown, they met somewhere bigger and invited others to join in.

The format of the meetings would mirror their friendly chats: they would talk about any history topic, not limiting themselves to only local heritage or social history, nor to only academia and ancient ruins.
