
Growing up in the 2000s in Newham was so special. Our family migrated from Vietnam and lived above a nail shop, where we also worked, right opposite the Old Canning Town library whilst I attended Hallsville Primary School. The library and its staff were a second family and shaped my love for learning, reading and community gathering fundamentally. Returning to Newham now, I am so excited to uplift the working-class histories as well as current efforts in community building and liberation. I am especially keen to surface the stories and experiences of Newham residents from the global majority, ESEA, migrant, queer and radical organising communities.
