Since re-developing and operating The Silver Building in the Royal Docks in 2016, we have recognised the need to create and provide more affordable creative workspace within the London Borough of Newham.
The Factory is based on land owned by Tate & Lyle Sugars in the North Woolwich neighbourhood.
After discovering the site in 2020, we immediately saw the opportunity to create an exciting new work and event space that will safeguard, develop and encourage the growth of local businesses.
The project was the first recipient of The Royal Docks Good Growth Fund, which was match-funded by Projekt. Work on site started in March 2021 and was completed in June 2022.
A number of businesses are now based at The Factory, with more set to join in the future.
The Factory has been used in various Film and TV Productions in the past year, and we have hosted a number of cultural events whilst parts of the site were under construction.
