South Hallsville School Disaster 85th Anniversary

About this record

At the start of the Blitz schools were being used as rest centres. People were evacuated from their homes if they had been destroyed by bombs or if there was an unexploded bomb. The rest centre was a place to wait temporarily until coaches collected families to take them to a safe location to be rehoused.
