Revolution Farm, based on George Orwell’s Animal Farm, is a site-specific play written by James Kenworth for performance at Newham City Farm in 2014.

James explains how the farm itself, its inner-city location and its backdrop of the Canary Wharf business district inspired him to write the play.
Professional actors performed alongside young people from Newham Schools including Abubacarr Bah, who was, at that time, an 11-year-old Year 6 pupil at Gallions Primary School. In his oral history, Abu describes the significance of taking a role in this play, his first experience of being at a farm and his encounters with certain farm animals for the first time.
Abu is now embarking on a career in acting.
