This Record features an online panel hosted by Newham Heritage Month and East End Women’s Museum.
The talk showcased stories of Newham’s sportswomen – both historically from the current day.
For Newham Heritage Month, East End Women’s Museum launched a project called ‘Ready, Set, Go! Newham Women in Sport’.
To compliment the project and its findings, an online panel discussion was held.
Audiences were able to hear from project researchers about the stories discovered in the archives and from contemporary women from Newham taking part in sports today.
Newham women have played a huge role in sports, and these stories are discussed in this panel discussion.
The East End Women’s Museum is the UK’s only dedicated women’s museum, and preserves and shares stories of women from the East End.
