Newham People and Places: Photography-Based Exhibition

Tower Gallery is an experienced volunteer-led exhibition space in the historic Memorial Community Church.  It currently holds 3 major exhibitions a year but also hosts other group or individual exhibitions from time to time. The vision of the Gallery is to encourage and promote local artists both established and emerging. It strives to be inclusive, exhibiting work across many ages, cultures and abilities.

Newham People and Places will be a photography based exhibition celebrating participants’ personal experiences of Newham past and current, creating a new visual narrative of the borough through the medium of photography.

There are 2 phases to this exhibition: the first inviting submissions (in August)and the second phase where anyone from the community can view work and even be inspired to do something of their own in response. Admission is free.

The gallery will link with Memorial Community Church as part of the Open House events Sat 13, Fri 19 and Sat 20 September 3-7pm. Travel Trunk history project will be present on at least one of those days (tbc).
