Making Historic Porcelain: Hands-on clay workshop

Sunday 19 June 2022, 12.30-2pm or 3-5pm
|

Local artist Dr Georgia Haseldine will show you how to make two historic eighteenth-century Bow Porcelain Factory clay recipes and create test tiles inspired by pieces now in the collection of London borough of Newham . You will also learn how to shape porcelain using press moulds based on historic artefacts.

Through this hands-on workshop we will also consider how the archaeological finds discovered before the London Olympics can help us think about circular economies and sustainable design futures.

There are two workshop sessions

12.30 – 14.00 for participants age 12+ . Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult

15.00 – 17.00 for participants age 16-25
