The Grade II listed Canning Town Old Library is being transformed into Newham Heritage Centre, a space which will showcase our borough’s extraordinary heritage and stories. Work has been taking place to bring this Victorian building back as a new cultural hub which will include a reading room, display space and community space.
The Heritage Centre will be inclusive and open to all, with a particular emphasis on community engagement and representing the diverse voices of our borough. Central to this project is transforming access to Newham’s archives and museum collections to support lifelong learning, exploration and community connection.
This project is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
