About Newham Folk Archive
Newham Folk Archive is a multidisciplinary art project which explores Newham’s Oral History, Folk Law, Truth and Myth. The project creates a range of multi media work and live performances.
Newham Folk Archive mix sound art and story telling during their live performances as a duo, often working with a changing cast of collaborators. Past work has included a digital film for Newham Word Festival about Newham’s May Day Folk traditions. This project included a printed zine produced at Newham’s Rabbits Road Press which was then distributed for free in the borough. Most recently in 2022 Newham Folk Archive have released their first hand cut 7” vinyl record on the Pearl Home Records label.
Newham Folk Archive’s current project is part of Newham Heritage Month. ‘Let Roam’ is a visual exhibition and accompanying zine inspired the cycling history of Newham.
