Kathleen worked for the BBC until 1994. One of her interests was family history so when she left she continued research and became a writer of books and articles on many aspects of history.  Also as a trainer in research skills for the media and for family historians and is keen to share her passion for research with this starting tool kit for those who may be interested in starting their own research journey with their own family tree. Kathleen is a long term resident of Stratford.

Dr Kathleen Chater is the author of Researching Untold Histories: Black people in England and Wales during the period of the British slave trade, c1660-1807.
