
Colin Grainger is the former Editor of the Newham Recorder and five other local newspapers and was also a sub editor on The Guardian.
He has been a journalist for 50 years and is currently working as a freelance journalist and editor. He is also a historian with a variety of interests. He was co-founder of the Heritage Newham – People, Places, Progress group.
Colin posts on the group’s Facebook and Twitter accounts at least once a day and has created archive of almost 6,000 pictures, stories and articles on local history and heritage over the last five years and contributes to the 25 plus social media groups in Newham that help preserve our history and heritage.
He has contributed to all the last Newham Heritage Months, weeks and festivals.
He has written the Forgotten Stories series on the londonsroyaldocks.com/ and royaldocks.london/ websites.

He is also a trustee of the Newham childrens’ charity Ambition, Aspire, Achieve.
