As part of Atomik Architecture working with local schools, Kimberley and Sandhya visited St Francis’ Catholic Primary School to work with the Year 4 classes.
Pupils of St Francis’ Catholic Primary School learn about the role of an architect and the historic built environment of Newham.
Kimberley and Sandhya from Atomik Architecture visited St Francis’ Catholic Primary School to run a workshop about the role of an architect and the historic built environment of Newham. They presented models of Newham and the Olympic site and gave Year 4 pupils the challenge to act as an architect with a task to sketch out a design for their own intervention for the Olympic Park.
“It was interesting for them to meet people who work in the local area and hear about a profession they may not have not heard of.”
We were so impressed with the thoughts, ideas and questions that came from the workshop, and are happy to see how enthusiastic all the young people are with engaging with their local built environment!
