Community Albums is a Newham based charity that helps people share their stories and build better communities through music and media. Working with schools, communities, and marginalised groups, we empower individuals to express themselves, build skills, and connect with others—creating powerful and lasting records of personal and collective heritage.
Community Albums have over 20 years experience of running music and media projects in the UK and internationally. Our passion is to offer music and media participation to change outcomes for the people who need it most.
We run 1-2-1 therapeutic music sessions for young people with disabilities and more complex needs; group youth club sessions teaching digital music and DJing skills; we teach young people instrument playing (drums, guitar, keyboard); we create films with communities and facilitate podcasts that share stories and raise awareness on important issues; we offer mentoring and career support; we run choirs; we run over 50s jamming sessions; we deliver music sessions into hospitals; we devise and run many one-off music and media projects with partner organisations
